The SQL Enterprise Hosting Service provides centralized and dedicated Microsoft SQL Server database hosting on the latest Windows operating system platform. Databases reside on virtualized servers in a hyperconverged physical environment with full-stack management of updates, maintenance, storage, backup, and disaster recovery.
Microsoft SQL Server
Microsoft SQL Server is a relational database management system (RDBMS) that supports a wide variety of transaction processing, business intelligence and analytics applications in corporate IT environments. Microsoft SQL Server is one of the three market-leading database technologies. SQL Server is available in many different editions, but here at MaineIT we currently offer Enterprise and Express to meet our customer's needs. Enterprise Edition is our standard offering, which includes the core database engine with add-on services available as an extra cost. Enterprise edition can manage databases as large as 524 petabytes and address 12 terabytes of memory and supports up to 640 logical processors. SQL Server Express Edition is a scaled down version, only includes the core database engine. While there are no limitations on the number of databases or users supported, it is limited to one processor, 1 GB memory and 10 GB database size.
