Auburn Early Literacy Training Offered for Organizations Serving Kids
Auburn – Preschool teachers, childcare providers, librarians and representatives from other organizations serving children are invited to a free training in Auburn on developing story time activities.
Story Time Success: What’s Behind the Magic? is a half-day class providing practical advice for people interested in developing quality reading activities for kids. Maine State Library Early Literacy Consultant, Shannon Schinagl, will share best practices for hosting story time programming and provide information about resources to help participants with early literacy activities.
The event will be held from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM on Saturday October 11 at the Auburn Public Library. Lunch will be provided at no charge.
Although there is no cost to attend the class, registration is required. Register online at: http://evanced.info/maine/evanced/eventsignup.asp?ID=2506 . Participants not representing a library should enter the name of their organization in the “library name” field in the registration form. Individuals with special dietary needs should indicate as such on the registration form so that accommodations can be made for lunch.
