Aging and Disability Services
The Office of Aging and Disability Services (OADS) supports older and disabled Mainers by providing Adult Protective, Brain Injury, Intellectual and Developmental Disability, and Long-Term Care Services to the state, in addition to Aging and Community services.
Behavioral Health
The Office of Behavioral Health (OBH) supports Maine people with mental health, substance use, and co-occurring disorders in living not only symptom-free, but with dignity, hope, and meaning.
Maine Center for Disease Control & Prevention
Maine Center for Disease Control and Prevention (Maine CDC) provides leadership, expertise, information, and tools to assure conditions in which all Maine people can be healthy
Child and Family Services
The Office of Child and Family Services (OCFS) supports Maine's children and their families by providing children's behavioral health, child welfare, early intervention, and prevention services.
Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center
Dorothea Dix Psychiatric Center (DDPC) collaborates with individuals with severe and persistent mental illness and their community and personal supports to provide recovery oriented, respectful, compassionate, and effective psychiatric care and treatment in the least restrictive, safest, and most therapeutic environment it can create.
Family Independence
The Office for Family Independence (OFI) is responsible for determining eligibility for a number of programs, such as MaineCare, Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF), and Food Supplement (SNAP). OFI also provides child support services and disability determination services.
Health Insurance Marketplace
The DHHS Office of the Health Insurance Marketplace (OHIM) operates CoverME.gov, Maine’s state-based health insurance marketplace for affordable health coverage.
Licensing and Certification
The Division provides regulatory oversight of medical and long-term care facilities in Maine. This includes oversight of the CNA registry, conducting criminal background checks for employers to ensure staff are safe to care for our vulnerable citizens, and investigating allegations of unsafe practices/events in facilities as diverse as hospitals, nursing homes, assisted living facilities, and group homes.
MaineCare Services
MaineCare, Maine’s Medicaid program, provides free and low-cost health care coverage to Maine’s children and adults who meet certain guidelines.
Riverview Psychiatric Center
The Riverview Psychiatric Center (RPC), in collaboration with the community, is a center for best practice, treatment, education and research, for individuals with serious, persistent mental illness, and co-occurring substance use disorders.
