Description, How to Apply, and Contact:
The Jay-Niles Memorial Library is seeking a librarian (generalist)/library sub for 12-14 hours a week (but occasionally more when a sub is needed). Preference given to an individual who has availability and flexibility in their schedule to be able to work at least the minimum hours needed per week and to be a substitute for other librarians occasionally as well (therefore, one might have the opportunity to work extra hours for some weeks).
Typically, the schedule for this position (during most of the year) would be Mondays, 1-7 pm, Fridays, 9-2 pm, and Sat 9 am-Noon. During the summer (after Memorial Day-right after Labor Day), the person hired for this position would need to work Monday and Tuesday from 1-7 pm.
Responsibilities and Requirements:
- Checking materials in and out in the library's automated circulation system and entering new patrons into the database
- Shelving books in alphabetical order and numerical order using the Dewey Decimal system
- Familiarity with basic office equipment. Ability to photocopy, fax, and scan documents for the public
- Familiarity with technology (Ability to assist patrons on the library's public access computers)

- be able to lift, bend, and reach as needed
