Governor LePage Proclaims November 4-11, 2018 Veterans Appreciation Week

WHEREAS, the State of Maine wishes to recognize the observance of Veterans Appreciation Week from November 4-11, 2018; and
WHEREAS, veterans across Maine and the United States have repeatedly answered the call of duty during our nationā€™s history; and
WHEREAS, Veterans Day is recognized as a way of paying tribute to the millions of citizens who have fought to protect our country and especially to those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in these battles; and
WHEREAS, special recognition is deserving to those veterans of World War II as the year 2018 marks 73 years since the end of hostilities in this conflict.
NOW, THEREFORE, I, PAUL R. LEPAGE, Governor of the State of Maine, do hereby proclaim November 4-11, 2018 as VETERANS APPRECIATION WEEK throughout the State of Maine, and urge all citizens to recognize this observance.
