Officer Responsibilities

The principal officer, treasurer, and decision-makers of a PAC are required to sign and submit an acknowledgement of responsibilities.  By signing this statement, the officers are acknowledging their responsibilities for complying with all requirements of campaign finance law relating to PACs, and the potential that the principal officer and treasurer may be held personally liable for penalties assessed against the PAC.

Officers and decision-makers of the PAC who have signed the acknowledgement statement are deemed to have participated in the PAC’s spending decisions until the Commission receives notice of their resignation or removal from the PAC.  The resignation or removal of an officer or decision-maker is not effective until the Commission receives notice.
