MaineDOT to Replace Round Pond Bridge in Charlotte

Drivers should plan for minor delays.

CHARLOTTE – May 14, 2026 — Starting on May 15, the Maine Department of Transportation (MaineDOT) will begin replacing the Round Pond Bridge in Charlotte. Traffic will be detoured onto a one lane temporary bridge with alternating traffic until November 2026. Traffic will be controlled by temporary traffic signals on site. There may be periods of one lane of alternating traffic maintained on the new bridge during the daytime with flaggers after November 2026. 

The project is scheduled to be completed by June 2027.

The contractor on this project is Eurovia Atlantic Coast/Northeast Construction of Bangor, Maine.

The contract amount is $2,923,484.00
