Office of the Maine Attorney General

Accessibility Statement

The Maine Office of the Attorney General is committed to making its digital information and services accessible and usable by everyone. We are continually working to improve user experience for everyone and to apply the relevant accessibility standards.

Conformance

Our ongoing accessibility efforts work toward conforming to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) version 2.2 level AA success criteria. Conformance with these guidelines not only helps make web content accessible to users with sensory, cognitive, and mobility disabilities, but ultimately to all users, regardless of ability.

Limitations

Despite our best efforts to ensure accessibility, there may be some limitations. Below is a description of known limitations and potential solutions.

  1. Archived documents: these may not work with assistive technologies as they are older and infrequently accessed. We convert these documents into new formats upon request. Please email AG.Webmaster@maine.gov to request an archived document be made accessible.
  2. Third-party created documents: these documents are created and submitted by outside entities to meet reporting requirements. Both our Data Breach Notifications and Tax Reforms of Private Foundations databases have third-party documents. While we require that documents submitted through these forms be compliant with WCAG 2.2 level AA, some are not. If you would like to request an accessible version of a nonconforming third-party document, please email us at AG.Webmaster@maine.gov or call us at 207-626-8800.
