Jobs at the Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry
There are three types of openings within Maine State Government: direct hire vacancies, which are filled by the hiring agency; classified competitive vacancies, which are filled through employment registers maintained by the Bureau of Human Resources; and agency promotional vacancies, which are open to current state employees. Carefully read the application instructions for each position announcement below.
For more information and application forms, see the State of Maine Career Opportunities website maintained by the Bureau of Human Resources or call (207) 624-7761.
These vacancies are currently open for recruitment. Please click on the 'apply now' button you are interested in for the full posting and how to apply.
Open Competitive Postings are not for people to "directly" apply. If you are interested in being on the Register for any of these classifications please go to the Bureau website and apply online. Please be aware that if you apply on the BHR website you are not applying a specific position within The Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry. You will be applying for the classification and your application will be scored and your name placed on the register. There is no guarantee, regardless of your score, that your name will be certified for an interview. To be eligible for consideration for a classified competitive position, your name must appear on the register for that position.
Information and application forms are available at the Bureau of Human Resources, Department of Administrative and Financial Services, Burton M. Cross State Office Building, Augusta and also at all Maine Career Center Offices. On the web visit:
