Specializing in the evaluation & treatment of children/adults with cochlear implants and hearing aids who wish to communicate through listening and speaking. Therapists follow either an Auditory-Oral or an Auditory-Verbal methodology of teaching. The focus of treatment is to develop auditory, speech and language skills with little to no visual cues, depending on the methodology used. Child-centered therapy is designed to be individualized with parents being fully involved in most or all aspects of programming. Therapists strive to collaborate with other professionals involved (e.g. audiologists, outside pre-school teachers, occupational therapists, etc) so that all the child’s needs are being met on a consistent basis.
