Governor Janet Mills Authorizes Farmington & Fire Station Flags to Remain Lowered in Honor of Fallen, Injured Firefighters

Governor Janet Mills today announced that she has authorized the Town of Farmington and fire departments across the state to keep the United States and State of Maine flags at half-staff in honor of those who were critically injured and still recovering from the explosion in Farmington on Monday.

Additionally, Governor Mills has said she will issue an additional flag lowering directive upon the release of funeral arrangement details for the deceased.

“With deep and enduring respect for Captain Bell and his family, and as we pray for the full recovery of our firefighters and Larry Lord who remain hospitalized, I am authorizing the Town of Farmington and fire departments across the state to keep their flags at half-staff,” said Governor Janet Mills. “Please join me in keeping all of our first responders in your thoughts and prayers and thank them for the service they perform for the people of Maine.”
