Workers’ Compensation Board
As Executive Director of the Workers’ Compensation Board, Rohde is charged with ensuring compliance with the workers' compensation laws, ensuring the prompt delivery of benefits legally due, promoting the prevention of disputes, utilizing dispute resolution to reduce litigation, and facilitating labor-management cooperation. Rhode has spent his entire professional career serving the Workers’ Compensation Board, beginning as a mediator (1993-1996), then as Assistant General Counsel (1996-1999), and then as General Counsel (1999-2019). In his position as Counsel, Rohde provided legal advice to the Board of Directors; represented the Board before the Legislature, state, and federal courts; drafted legislative proposals for the Board of Directors; drafted rules and managed the rule-making process; and helped to manage the day-to-day operations of the Board.
