Confirmable appointments require a public hearing to be held before a joint standing committee of the State Legislature for the purposes of confirming the Governor's nomination. These appointments also require final Confirmation by the Maine State Senate. Once confirmed, persons appointed to Confirmable Boards must be sworn in by a Dedimus Justice within 30 days of their appointment. If the appointee is not sworn in within 30 days, they may not serve until they are reappointed by the Governor.
