Both the Buildings, Infrastructure & Housing and the Energy Working Groups have discussed opportunities to reduce industrial emissions in Maine. This meeting will convene members of those working groups and other industrial stakeholders to discuss updates to Maine’s climate action plan related to industrial emissions.

The Maine Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) will provide an overview of its upcoming Tenth Biennial Report on Progress toward Greenhouse Gas Reduction Goals, explanation of methods, how the new data informs the update of Maine's climate action plan, Maine Won't Wait, and how it can be used to identify trends and opportunities for further emissions reductions.
This presentation will share methods and modeling from RMI, assessing the impact of local, regional, and state zoning codes to guide housing where its most needed and most likely to reduce emissions while making other climate action investments go much farther. Countless cities and states across the U.S. are reforming land use regulations that impede housing production.
This is the second meeting of the Maine Climate Council’s Equity Subcommittee. The Equity Subcommittee consists of two sector-specific equity experts appointed to each working group, and an additional leadership team of 5 members.
