  • 2-1-1 Maine 211 is a free, confidential information and referral service that connects people of all ages across Maine to local services. 211 Maine is based in Maine and available 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Find services in your area on the website by selecting an area of need or by searching by keyword. You can also dial 211 or text your zip code to 898-211.
  • National Alliance on Mental Illness The National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI) is an organization with the goal of building better lives for Americans affected by mental illness. On their website, you can learn about mental illness, find support groups, and find contact information for the NAMI HelpLine, where you can ask questions and gain support. 
  • National Institute of Mental Health: Anxiety Disorders The National Institute of Mental Health (NIMH) is a federal agency for research on mental disorders. You can find more information about anxiety disorders on the anxiety disorders page of their website, including symptoms, risk factors, treatments, therapy options, and free resources.
  • Centers for Disease Control and Prevention: Mental Health Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) is part of the Department of Health and Human Services and works to protect the public’s health. On the mental health page of their website, you can learn more about mental health and healthy ways to cope with stress. You can also access a list of free resources to help you find a mental health professional and treatment.

There are several mobile apps available that are designed to help you reduce stress and manage anxiety.

  • MindShift CBT is a free anxiety management app that uses strategies based on cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to help you reduce worry, stress, an anxiety. Mindshift for  Android  |  Mindshift for Apple
  • Calm is an app that aims to improve your health and happiness by helping you reduce anxiety or stress, improve sleep quality, and more through meditations and other content. Calm offers free and paid versions.
  • Headspace is another app that aims to improve your health and happiness and help you create healthy habits through meditation and mindfulness content. Headspace is a paid app.
