Am I Eligible?

To be eligible for unemployment, you must:

  • Have lost your job or have had your hours reduced through no fault of your own.
  • Be actively looking for work.
  • Be able and available to work.
      • Physically and mentally able to work.
      • Available to accept a reasonable offer of employment.
        • Example: You do not have personal responsibilities that would prevent you from working.
  • You must have earned enough wages in the 12 to 18 months prior to filing a claim to be eligible.
    • The minimum amounts are $6,622.26 in the base period and at least $2,207.42 in 2 of the last 4 quarters. *Amounts are updated yearly in June*
    • Base period is the oldest 4 quarters of the last 5 completed quarters.
          • Note: If you are not eligible with base period wages, you should still apply as you may qualify on an alternate base period using the 4 most recent completed quarters.

The calendar year is divided into four calendar quarters:

  • 1st quarter is January 1- March 31
  • 2nd quarter is April 1 - June 30
  • 3rd quarter is July 1 - September 30
  • 4th quarter is October 1 - December 31
