The MHRC holds public meetings and hearings in a hybrid format – both in person and on Zoom - which are also streamed live on YouTube.
- Public meetings will be held at the Commission's building at 19 Union Street in Augusta, in a large conference room on the third floor. The building is open to the public in a public entrance by the rear parking lot. There is detailed information on our website regarding our building.
- The Commission will continue allowing remote participation in (and YouTube livestream) of meetings per a remote participation policy (PDF).
- For cases on the Hearing Agenda, the Commission sends participants Zoom information about 7-10 days before the hearings.
- For cases on the Consent Agenda, people/parties/attorneys/the public are not provided Zoom information, but can observe the meeting, preferably on the Commission’s YouTube livestream. The Commission posts YouTube information for the livestream on the morning of the public meeting, generally at around 8:00 A.M.
- The Commission will, if necessary, adopt morning sessions and afternoon sessions, and may (if necessary) limit presentation time to shorter than 10 minutes per case. If that occurs, the Commission will advise parties/counsel accordingly as soon as possible ahead of the hearings.
- All attendees may be required to wear a mask regardless of vaccination status. If so, when a party or counsel is presenting, their mask may be off but must be put back on when the presentation is completed.
- If there is a public health emergency, the Commission may hold meetings wholly by remote participation. If this occurs, the Commission will advise parties/counsel accordingly as soon as possible ahead of the meeting.
