Rep. Dan Ankeles, D-Brunswick, welcomed Maine state chess champions Molly Tefft and Gabe Eaton of Brunswick to the State House on Friday and presented them with a legislative sentiment.
Tefft won the Maine State Girls K-12 Chess Tournament, and Eaton won the 2024 Maine Scholastic Individual Chess Championship.

AUGUSTA - The Maine Legislature unanimously voted Wednesday to enact legislation sponsored by Rep. Dan Ankeles, D-Brunswick, that would help protect fishermen's access to Maine's working waterfront.
AUGUSTA - Today, Reps. Dan Ankeles and Poppy Arford, D-Brunswick, Rep. Cheryl Golek, D-Harpswell, and Sen. Mattie Daughtry, D-Brunswick, welcomed the Brunswick High School Girls' Basketball Team to the State House. The team was presented with a legislative sentiment for winning the 2024 Class A Girls' High School Basketball State Championship.
"We are all so proud of this team making history," said Ankeles. "The focus and dedication they showed makes them all role models for kids across Brunswick and throughout Maine."
AUGUSTA - The Legislature's Joint Standing Committee on Taxation voted unanimously of those present Wednesday to advance a bill sponsored by Rep. Dan Ankeles, D-Brunswick, that would help protect fishermen's access to Maine's working waterfront.

AUGUSTA - Rep. Dan Ankeles, D-Brunswick, will serve as a member of the Legislature's Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee in the Second Regular Session of the 131st Legislature. He was appointed to the committee by Speaker of the House Rachel Talbot Ross, D-Portland.
The committee oversees the state budget process and bond proposals.
