Ankeles appointed to Legislature's Budget-Writing Committee

AUGUSTA - Rep. Dan Ankeles, D-Brunswick, will serve as a member of the Legislature's Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee in the Second Regular Session of the 131st Legislature. He was appointed to the committee by Speaker of the House Rachel Talbot Ross, D-Portland.

The committee oversees the state budget process and bond proposals.

"Im grateful for the opportunity to serve on the Appropriations and Financial Affairs Committee, where I will draw upon my years of experience working with Brunswick's municipal budget," said Ankeles. "Budgets are moral documents, and I look forward to helping craft balanced budgets that lift up all Maine people."

Ankeles will also continue serving on the Legislature's Transportation Committee, which oversees the state's Highway Fund, the Maine Department of Transportation and the Bureau of Motor Vehicles.

Ankeles is serving his first term in the Maine House and represents District 100, a central slice of Brunswick that includes downtown, the former naval airbase and Bowdoin College.
