Committee advances Roberts legislation to help reduce student chronic absenteeism and dropout rates

AUGUSTA - A majority of the Legislature's Education and Cultural Affairs Committee voted Tuesday to advance two pieces of legislation sponsored by Rep. Tiffany Roberts, D-South Berwick, that would provide proactive and strategic approaches to addressing chronic absenteeism and ensuring that students who have experienced educational disruptions have stability and support.

Cluchey recognizes Maine's oldest continuing plant sale

Legislative committee votes to advance Sachs bill to protect reproductive health care services

AUGUSTA - A majority of the Legislature's Health Coverage, Insurance and Financial Services Committee voted last week to advance a bill sponsored by Rep. Melanie Sachs, D-Freeport, that aims to safeguard reproductive health care services during consolidations and mergers between health care providers.

Sargent to hold office hours

AUGUSTA - Rep. Holly Sargent, D-York, will hold office hours at the York Public Library on Saturday, May 20, from 11 a.m. 1 p.m. Appointments are not necessary.

These office hours provide constituents with an opportunity to hear updates from Augusta, ask questions about policymaking and share opinions on state matters. Office hours also serve as an opportunity for residents navigating state agencies to voice concerns.

Rep. Sargent is serving her first term in the Maine House and represents part of York.
