Maine’s Unemployment Insurance Guide

Unemployment Insurance benefits support eligible claimants who’ve lost their job through no fault of their own while they search to become re-employed. You are required to meet eligibility to receive benefit payments. Funds for unemployment insurance are paid for by employers’ taxes.

This important guide will review eligibility conditions and what is needed to file a new claim and weekly certification. If you need further filing assistance, call a Customer Service Representative at 1-800-593-7660, 8:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m., Monday-Friday, except State Holidays.

The Maine Department of Labor will never ask for your Social Security Number or USBank Reliacard information by e-mail or call you and ask for it over the phone. If you receive such a request, contact us at 1-800-593-7660.
