Bureau of Motor Vehicle Employees, David Lachance and Marc Theberge, honored with Patriotic Employers Award by the Maine Committee of Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve

AUGUSTA – On March 31, 2014, the Maine Committee of the Employer Support of the Guard and Reserve (ESGR), a Department of Defense office, honored David Lachance, Director of Administrative Services, and Marc Theberge, Business Services Manager with an Patriotic Employers award in recognition of extraordinary support to, Daniel Henry, Business Manager for the Bureau and a Lieutenant Maine Army National Guardsman.

According to Maine ESGR State Chair, John Henry Cashwell, “the Patriot Award was created by ESGR to publicly recognize individuals who provide outstanding patriotic support and cooperation to their employees, who like the citizen warriors before them, have answered their nation’s call to serve.  David Lachance and Marc Theberge were nominated for being highly supportive of the Maine Army National Guard by Lt. Daniel Henry. Supportive supervisors are critical to maintaining the strength and readiness of the nation’s Guard and Reserve units.”

Daniel Henry nominated David Lachance and Marc Theberge for the Patriotic Employer award, because, “his supervisors made every necessary arrangement for me to prepare successfully for the upcoming deployment as well as continually checking with me to ensure things were going smoothly. They discussed hiring a temp during my absence and although my deployment got cancelled at the national level, I never felt my job was in jeopardy.” He goes on to say, “I truly appreciate, [working for people], that value service and the other commitments of their employees.”

ESGR, a Department of Defense office, seeks to foster a culture in which all employers support and value the employment and military service of members of the National Guard and Reserve in the United States.
