Regulatory Fairness Board to hold hearing in Presque Isle July 26th

PRESQUE ISLE - Maine’s Regulatory Fairness Board will hold a public hearing on July 26th from 9:00 am – 12:00 pm in the Alumni Room at the University of Maine at Presque Isle.  This is a follow-up meeting to the May 10th hearing and is being co-hosted by the Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce.

The Regulatory Fairness Board was created in 2003 to hear from businesses owners and managers about specific state rules and regulations that may unreasonably impede business sustainability and growth.  The board is interested in hearing recommendations for regulatory and statutory change that may enhance Maine’s business climate and reduce the regulatory burden on small businesses.  Public comments set the meeting’s agenda and create the Board’s recommendations to the Governor and the Legislature.

The Board is chaired by Secretary of State, Matt Dunlap, and four appointed members who represent the business community.  If you plan to attend please contact Peggy Schaffer, Small Business Advocate, Office of the Secretary of State, 626-8410, or Theresa Fowler, Executive Director, Central Aroostook Chamber of Commerce, 207-764-6561.
