Secretary of State to Determine Order of Ballot Questions

AUGUSTA, MAINE – Secretary of State Matthew Dunlap is scheduled to determine the order of the bond questions that will appear on the November 5, 2013 Referendum Election ballot through a public drawing on Friday, August 30, 2013 at 11:00am in his office at the Nash School Building in Augusta.  The Nash School is located at 103 Sewall Street.

Maine law requires the drawing process for ballot position and also requires the questions to be organized on the ballot by category as follows: people's veto questions first, then citizen initiatives, followed by bond questions, referendum questions proposed by the Legislature, and finally, resolutions to amend the state Constitution.

The November ballot will only contain bond questions as no other statewide measures have been proposed.  Friday’s drawing will determine their order.
