Old Stock Certificate SearchDetermining the value, if any, of your stock certificate may be difficult. The logical starting point is a brokerage firm, but if that fails, there are other options. You can check your local library for a copy of “The Robert D. Fisher Manual of Valuable and Worthless Securities,” “Directory of Obsolete Securities,” or “Directory of Active Stocks,” to see if the company is listed. In addition, an Internet search of the company that issued the certificate may produce useful information. The companies listed below research the value of old stock certificates. We provide the names and contact information of these companies as a courtesy; we cannot attest to the quality of their service or the reasonableness of their prices. You should be aware that some stock certificates, which have no trading or redemption value, may have value as “collectible paper.” Most of the companies listed below buy and sell old certificates in addition to researching their value.
