Empeople Credit Union, an Illinois state-chartered credit union headquartered in Moline, Illinois, notified the Superintendent of the Bureau of Financial Institutions, pursuant to Title 9-B M.R.S. §§ 373 and 816, of its intent to establish de novo branches in Maine. The proposed branches will be located in Bangor, Biddeford and Portland, Maine.
The branching activity does not require Empeople to file notice or seek approval from its state or federal regulator. If the Bureau finds that the proposed branching activity does not comply with applicable Maine law, it may file an objection with Empeople Credit Union’s regulator.
