Evergreen Credit Union to amend bylaws and expand field of membership.

Evergreen Credit Union, Portland, Maine, has requested permission to amend its bylaws to expand its field of membership, in accordance with Title 9-B M.R.S. §§ 814 and 848.

Evergreen Credit Union is a community credit union whose field of membership consists of employees of the SAPPI Company in Westbrook, Maine, and Boston, Massachusetts; unremarried spouses of persons who died while in the field of membership; employees of Evergreen Credit Union; those persons living, working, worshiping, or attending school, and businesses and other legal entities located in Cumberland County or York County including members of the immediate families of all such persons, and organizations of such persons, businesses or entities.

The proposed bylaw change is to expand its field of membership to add those persons living, working, worshiping, or attending school, and businesses and other legal entities located in four additional counties, including: Androscoggin County, Lincoln County, Oxford County, and Sagadahoc County.

The Maine Bureau of Financial Institutions reviewed the documentation submitted by Evergreen Credit Union in support of its request along with guidelines established by the National Credit Union Administration addressing expansions of field of membership, as set forth in 9-B M.R.S. § 814. As a result of that review and analysis, the Bureau approved the request to expand the field of membership by adding the requested counties. Therefore, the field of membership bylaw for Evergreen Credit Union is expanded to include those living, working, worshiping, or attending school, and businesses and other legal entities located in Androscoggin County, Lincoln County, Oxford County, and Sagadahoc County, members of the immediate families of all such persons, and organizations of such persons, businesses or entities.

Any person aggrieved by this final agency action shall be entitled to judicial review, pursuant to the provisions the Maine Administrative Procedures Act, Title 5, Chapter 375, Subchapter 7 (5 M.R.S. §§ 11001-11008).
