Advisory Council
The Advisory Council on Affordable Health Care was created to provide the Office of Affordable Health Care with input on matters affecting the cost of health care in this State. Members of the Advisory Council are appointed and confirmed by the legislature, and serve five year terms.

The Maine Office of Affordable Health Care is seeking full or part-time paid Fellows to assist with research, writing, and policy development projects. This is an exciting opportunity for students or young professionals to gain hands-on experience with the policy making process at a state level.

In 2021, the Maine legislature created the Office of Affordable Health Care when it enacted P.L. 2021 Chapter 459, Section 3. The establishing legislation directs the office to:

The Office of Affordable Health Care is responsible for tracking and analyzing health spending in Maine, and proposing solutions with the potential to reduce costs for consumers and improve their experience with the health system.
