Dozens of employers will be hiring

PRESQUE ISLE?The Presque Isle CareerCenter is co-sponsoring a job fair on April 9, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Northeastland Hotel. Sponsored by the Presque Isle CareerCenter, the Maine Department of Labor and Northern Maine Development Corporation. ?Maine?s employers are hiring; our state gained 6,500 jobs in 2013 and we are starting April with 7,100 jobs on Maine?s Job Bank,? said Governor Paul R. LePage. ?2014 promises continued growth with several job fairs scheduled around the state. Come out, meet employers and learn what the County has to offer.?

Job fair attendees should bring multiple copies of their resume and be prepared for a job interview.

Participating employers include: U.S. Border Patrol, Care and Comfort, Manpower, TEMPO, Lane Construction, Maine State Police, ABLE, Home Care for Maine, Caribou Vet Center, Townsquare Media, the Northern Lighthouse, Wal-Mart, Irving Woodlands, Ecoshel, Project Flagging, Columbia Forest, Acme Monaco, Northern Maine General, Sears, the Department of Health and Human Services, the Aroostook Medical Center, R.H. Foster and Lowe?s.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O?Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
