AUGUSTA - The Maine House of Representatives voted Monday to advance a bill sponsored by Rep. Kristi Mathieson, D-Kittery, that would remove financial barriers to diagnostic and supplemental breast examinations by eliminating cost-sharing requirements.
AUGUSTA - The Maine House of Representatives gave final approval on Monday to LD 1183, sponsored by Rep. Sue Salisbury, D-Westbrook, which would establish the School Meal Equipment and Program Improvement Fund to be administered by the Maine Department of Education (DOE).
Gov. Janet Mills held a bill signing ceremony Wednesday for LD 239, a measure by Rep. Lori K. Gramlich, D-Old Orchard Beach, to name the Pink-edged Sulphur the state butterfly. AUGUSTA - On Monday, Gov. Janet Mills signed into law LD 956, sponsored by Rep. Ambureen Rana, D-Bangor, which will require health care facilities to collect patient data related to sexual orientation and gender identity.
AUGUSTA - The Maine House and Senate voted unanimously on Wednesday to advance legislation sponsored by Rep. Kelly Noonan Murphy, D-Scarborough, that would increase access to electric breast pumps for MaineCare recipients.
As amended, LD 603 would allow eligible MaineCare recipients to obtain electric breast pumps and supplies when they are prescribed or recommended by a health care provider without needing prior approval from MaineCare.
AUGUSTA - The Maine House of Representatives gave final approval on Thursday to LD 1520, sponsored by Rep. Cheryl Golek, D-Harpswell, which would direct the Maine Department of Education and the Maine Department of Health and Human Services to study the feasibility of placing child care facilities in schools.
