UPDATE:
Route 1 in Stockton Springs will be reopened to traffic at sunrise tomorrow (Saturday, October 17th). There will be an alternating, single-lane traffic pattern on Monday while crews install guardrails and perform striping operations.

STOCKTON SPRINGS - The Maine Department of Transportation will be replacing a large culvert on Route 1 in Stockton Springs. The culvert is part of Stower Brook Bridge, which carries Route 1 over Stower Brook. The project area begins 0.8 mile north of Muskrat Farm Road and extends north, ending just south of Sandy Point Road. This work will require the closure of Route 1 for up to six weeks. Traffic detours using Routes 1A and 174 will be marked. Work is scheduled to begin on September 8th and be finished on October 30th. The contractor on this project is F.C. Work & Sons of Jackson. The contract amount is $1,195,724.
