Slope Stabilization Work Along Route 140 in Canton

CANTON - The Maine Department of Transportation will be conducting slope stabilization work along Route 140 in Canton. The project area begins about a half-mile east of Canton Point Road and extends west for about one-third of a mile. Work is scheduled to begin on October 26th and wrap up for the winter by November 25th. We will return in the spring to continue the work. Flaggers will control traffic. This project is necessary because the bank is eroding, and we need to move the road alignment away from it. The contractor on this project is Pratt & Sons, Inc. out of Mechanic Falls.
