Telework Information for DHHS Staff

Employees of the Maine Department of Health and Human Services have performed work for Maine residents with honor, integrity, and compassion during the COVID-19 pandemic, whether in offices or working from home. As of September 6, 2022, DHHS has transitioned to a permanent telework policy.

Maine Health Care Services Strengthened by Bipartisan Supplemental Budget for 2022-2023

On April 20, 2022, Governor Mills signed a bipartisan supplemental budget that invests $522 million in total funding ($202 million in State General Fund) in the programs run by the Maine Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS). This will enable the Department to tackle some of the state’s most pressing problems, including ongoing impacts of the pandemic and Maine’s longstanding health care and child care workforce shortages. Five key areas with support through the budget are described below.

Electronic Visit Verification (EVV) Trainings and Forums

The EVV requirement deadline for Personal Care Services (PCS) was January 1, 2021 and will be January 1, 2023 for Home Health providers delivering services under Section 40 and for Hospice Services providers delivering services under Section 43.

We are offering provider and aggregator trainings online via Microsoft Teams. The trainings are designed to help providers and aggregators to comply with federal EVV requirements.
