Position Available: Operations and Administration Assistant
Position Overview:
The Operations and Administration Assistant is an entry-level role that provides essential support to both the office and program teams at the Maine Conservation Corps. This position plays a key role in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations and contributes to the success of MCC programs through strong organizational, administrative, and coordination support.
Location:
MCC Office: 54 Independence Drive, Augusta, ME.
Time Requirement:
- 1 year commitment (minimum)
- 40+ hours a week
- Monday-Friday during training and orientation weeks
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and organize physical and digital filing systems to ensure accurate and accessible records
- Support the processing of invoices for payment, including tracking and coordinating approvals
- Support meeting and event logistics, including scheduling, room setup, materials preparation, and follow-up
- Support the procurement of office supplies and equipment, ensuring timely and cost-effective purchasing
- Support the preparation and organization of materials for trainings, outreach efforts, and promotional events
- Assist in the review process of MCC member applications, including supporting criminal history checks
- Provide general administrative support to staff across programs
- Perform other duties as assigned to support MCC operations and programs
Qualifications:
- Must be a U.S. citizen
- High school diploma or equivalent and at least two years of relevant work experience
- Must be at least 21 years old
- Must submit to a criminal history check
- Must be approved to drive State vehicles by the Risk Management Division (clean driving record)
- Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office programs
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively
- Clear written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Interest in conservation, service programs, or public sector work is a plus
Working Conditions:
This position is primarily office-based with occasional support needed for off-site meetings, trainings, or events.
Compensation and Benefits:
- Weekly compensation of $660-$770 per week based on experience(less taxes)
