Please join Maine Forest Service District Forester and Maine Woodland Owners Upper Kennebec Valley Chapter leader Jason Hilton for a harvest tour at Coburn Woods in Skowhegan. We will be touring a harvest site being conducted by Somerset Woods on their conservation property off the Russell Road. We will cover topics such as selecting a harvest system that will work best to meet your goals, harvesting near vernal pools, road building for access, working around hiking trails, and much more. Presenters will be forester Jon Doty of Two Trees Forestry who is overseeing the harvest as well as district forester Jason Hilton with the Maine Forest Service. Somerset Woods staff will also be on hand. If you are considering a future harvest on your property or just want to see a harvest in operation, please join us on Friday February 13th from 10 to noon at 299-300 Russell Road, Skowhegan, Maine at the Coburn Woods Trailhead. Parking is limited so if you are able to carpool, please do so. Advanced registration is appreciated.
