Wildfire Awareness Week - Smokey Bear Storytime event and painting display - Kennebunk

This event is to promote Wildfire Awareness Week across Maine. A Maine Forest Ranger will read the story of Smokey Bear to children before Smokey Bear makes an appearance. All nineteen Smokey Bear paintings from the historical Wendelin Collection will also be displayed April 21 - May 12, 2023.
About the Wendelin Exhibit
These paintings are on loan from the USDA National Agricultural Library Smokey Bear history collection. The exhibit consists of reproductions of the nineteen original paintings by Virginia artist Rudolph Wendelin. Many of these paintings were made into Smokey Bear posters and have made an enourmous impact on wildfire prevention through the U.S.A.
