Veteran's Preference in Job Applications

By State of Maine law, five or ten points can be added to the final passing examination score of a veteran (or the spouse, widow, widower, or eligible parent of a veteran) when he or she meets the requirements for the award of these points. Preference points are only added to the scores which are used to make an open competitive referral for State Civil Service employment.
