JOB DESCRIPTION:

In this position you will have two primary areas of responsibility.  As the Program Specialist for the Level of Care System (LOC), you will manage day-to-day LOC activities within OCFS.  LOC is a process for assessing the service needs of all Maine children in foster care and new children entering foster care.  In your second role you will serve as the Deputy Administrator for the Interstate Compact on the Placement of Children (ICPC).  You will ensure compliance with regulations governing the placement of children in the custody of the state of Maine into foster homes, relative homes, and adoptive homes in other states, and oversee the placement of children from other states into foster homes, relative placements, and adoptive placements in Maine. You will also work collaboratively with other OCFS staff in educating Department staff, judges, and others in the community about the ICPC rules and regulations.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS:

In order to qualify, you must have an eight (8) year combination of education and/or professional experience in social services casework.  You must possess full licensure at the Licensed Social Worker level as issued by the Maine State Board of Social Worker Licensure.
