Maine Dept. of Labor to Hold Competitive Skills Scholarship Listening Session December 20

AUGUSTA -The Maine Department of Labor's (MDOL) Bureau of Employment Services will be holding a public listening session as it develops proposed rulemaking outlining changes to the Competitive Skills Scholarship Program (CSSP). The Competitive Skills Scholarship Program provides funding and support services for eligible Maine residents to pursue associate degrees, bachelors degrees or employer recognized credentials leading to high-wage, in-demand jobs in Maine.

CSSP rules have been in place since 2015, and changes are necessary to address technology advancements, rising costs and demographic diversity in Maine. The goal of the listening session is to hear what the public would like addressed during the rulemaking process.

When: Tuesday, December 20, 2022 at 2 p.m. The session will run between an hour and a half to two hours.

Where: The Frances Perkins Room at the Maine Department of Labors central office, 45 Commerce Drive, Augusta.
