2010 Prevailing Wage Rates Set
January 19, 2010
The 2010 prevailing wage rates for construction have been published and are available for download on the Maine Department of Labor website at: www.maine.gov/labor/labor_stats/publications/wagerateconst.
The report provides the median wage by county for different construction related occupations. Maine law requires construction employers to pay the prevailing wage or higher on any state-funded construction project projected to cost $50,000 or more. The law is similar to the Federal Davis-Bacon Act, which provides wages standards for federally-funded contracts.
The Maine regulation was recently amended to also require contractors to report proof of Workers? Compensation coverage to the contracting agency on any state-funded construction project.
