SafetyWorks! Announces 2010 Safety and Health Class Schedule Bookmark and Share

Augusta - The Maine Department of Labor SafetyWorks program has announced its 2010 schedule of free safety and health classes for Maine workers and businesses. Over 100 classes are planned statewide on a variety of topics ranging from forklift operator training to OSHA recordkeeping. The schedule includes classes scheduled from for all of 2010 and is available on the SafetyWorks! website at www.safetyworksmaine.com or by calling 207-623-7900 (TTY: 1-800-794-1110)

Due to popular demand, several 10 and 30-hour General Construction Safety courses will be offered in different regions of the state. A 30-hour General Industry Safety Training will also be held in November at the SafetyWorks! Safety Training Institute in Fairfield. Workers participating in those courses will receive OSHA completion cards at the end of their training.

All SafetyWorks! classes are offered at no charge, but pre-registration is required. Workers can register online at the SafetyWorks! website or by calling SafetyWorks!.

SafetyWorks! is an outreach program of the Maine Department of Labor designed to reduce job-related injuries, illnesses and deaths. Onsite safety training and consultation services are available by request and are provided free of charge. All services are voluntary and completely confidential. SafetyWorks! is not part of OSHA and does not issue citations or fines.
