Maine?s ARRA (American Recovery and Reinvestment Act) funded Re-Employment Program launched this week offering workshops to unemployment claimants. The workshops are designed to assist claimants in becoming re-employed by focusing on where to look for work, self presentation, developing resume and cover letter skills and formulating and executing a job search plan. The workshops are delivered across the state by 12 new Re-Employment Consultants working through Maine?s CareerCenters. Also this week, the NOQ4U project within the Department of Vocational Rehabilitation began their work eliminating their waitlist by hiring 12 Rehabilitation counselors. These counselors will begin reengaging individuals who have been determined eligible for services but who have lost contact with while they were waiting for services. The goal is to eliminate the waitlist by October, 2010.
