Southern Midcoast CareerCenter Co-Hosting Job Fair, Holding Open House on October 16 Bookmark and Share

AUGUSTA -- The Southern Midcoast CareerCenter is showcasing its new location in an open house and co-sponsoring a job fair with Southern Maine Community College--Midcoast Campus on Brunswick Landing, formerly the Brunswick Naval Air Station. More than 20 employers are recruiting at the job fair. The events take place on Tuesday, October 16 at the L.L. Bean Learning Commons, 29 Sewall St., Brunswick. The job fair runs from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., followed by the CareerCenter's open house and ribbon-cutting at 1 p.m.

"I urge those looking for careers in this tight labor market to visit any CareerCenter," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "They provide resources and services that will assist you in improving your resume and preparing for job interviews."

All are seeking qualified employees to fill current positions. Job seekers are encouraged to dress appropriately, bring a current resume, and be prepared to interview.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O'Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
