SPRINGVALE?The York County CareerCenter, located at 9 Bodwell Court in Springvale, continues its workshop programs for job seekers and those considering training to upgrade their skills and increase their employability.

?Maine employers are struggling to find workers in this tight labor market,? said Governor Paul R. LePage. ?If you can work, we can help you get back in a job or, if you are working, we can help you get a better job. Our CareerCenters are staffed with professional career counselors who can help you improve your resume, prepare for any of the many job fairs happening this spring, and get you on the path to a good-paying career.?

CareerCenters can assist businesses by offering workshops on location, at local businesses or other organizations at no cost. The following workshops and programs will be held at the CareerCenter in Springvale unless otherwise noted.

Save the Date: Eighth Annual York Count Regional Job Fair ? Wednesday, April 11, 1 to 5 p.m., Nasson Community Center

This is a no cost event. Speak with hiring employers, and talk with Career Counselors and Veteran's Representatives. We will continually update our website with a list of employers that will be attending once they have confirmed.

Essentials of College Planning Workshop ? Mondays, March 5, 12, 19 and 26, 10 a.m. to 12 noon

A FREE interactive workshop that outlines the four steps in the college process: admissions, financial aid, career planning, and study skills. The workshop lasts approximately two to three hours. Resume and Interview Coaching - Tuesday, March 20, 9 a.m. to 12:00 noon

Your resume is your marketing tool that helps you land the all-important interview. Join us and learn the dos and don?ts of resume writing and how to stand out in a positive way. GATEways to Employment ? Wednesday, March 21, 9 a.m. to 12:00 noon

Join this workshop for a basic overview of CareerCenter Services as well as resume, interview and job search skills. Gateway to Employment gives an overview of basic information on Resumes, Interviews and Job Search skills as well as CareerCenter and community resources available to you during your job search. Career Exploration Workshop ? Thursday, March 22 and Friday, March 23

This extensive and informative workshop will be offered to Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) Clients at the Springvale CareerCenter. Vocational Rehabilitation clients will be able to explore a variety of career paths, and research the required skills needed for these careers. Registration through Vocational Rehabilitation is required. Please call 822-3300 and ask for Vocational Rehabilitation to register.

How to Navigate a Job Fair ? Thursday, March 29, 9 to 11 a.m.
