BANGOR?Tri-County CareerCenter in Bangor announces November programming for job seekers and those who are considering training to upgrade their skills and increase their employability.

?Our CareerCenters offer no-cost information and resources to help Mainers find a new or better job or training program to support a career change, whether they?re out of work or looking for a better job,? said Governor Paul R. LePage. ?Each location provides computers with Internet access and printers that job seekers can use, as well as workshops and expert advice. Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act Information (WIOA) and Registration Session ? Tuesdays, 10 to 11 a.m.

This is an overview of services and programs available through WIOA to residents of the tri-county area to include intensive job search assistance, potential training opportunities and options like on-the-job training. It also includes eligibility requirements and information on accessing all of these services. Please complete your Maine JobLink registration prior to attending the workshop. Essentials of College Planning and Financial Aid for Adults ? Presented by MEOC ? Fridays, 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Call for an appointment.

Steps for successful college enrollment, types of colleges and trade schools, entrance requirements, readiness and transitional issues of adults, admission requirements and financial aid overview and completion. Please bring your last year?s income tax forms to the workshop. To register call 1-800-281-3703.

CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume writing and cover letter software, Internet access and O?Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
