New Workforce Panel Focuses on Veterans? Employment

The Maine Jobs Council is launching a new subcommittee next month aimed at improving employment and training opportunities for Maine Veterans.
The Veterans? Employment Subcommittee will be chaired by Ed Clift, former President and CEO of Merrill Merchants Bank and will be comprised of members representing employers, workers and service providers.
Employment and training funding allocated to Maine through the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act provides for priority services for Maine Veterans.
The group will work on developing new strategies to ensure Maine?s population of nearly 50,000 Veterans have improved opportunities in the Maine workforce in the years ahead.
