WASHINGTON COUNTY—CareerCenters, part of the Maine Department of Labor, offer a variety of services to help people find employment or to upgrade skills. Each center provides several public-access computer workstations with Microsoft Office software, resume and cover letter writing software, Internet access, and O’Net software for skills assessment. All CareerCenter services are free of charge.
“In this tight labor market, Maine’s businesses are finding it more difficult to recruit a skilled workforce,” said Governor Paul R. LePage. “There are tens of thousands of jobs available throughout our state. If you are looking for a new job, a better job, or training, Maine CareerCenters can help you find the right services and programs that will help build your confidence and improve your skills and techniques. You may even qualify for a scholarship. Take that first step and visit or contact your closest Maine CareerCenter to start the conversation.”
Workshops are held at the Machias CareerCenter, 53 Prescott Dr., Ste. 1, Machias, unless otherwise noted. All events require pre-registration in person or by phone. To learn more, like the Washington County CareerCenters on Facebook https://www.facebook.com/washingtoncountycareercenters .
