7th Annual York County Regional Job Fair Happens on April 5

SPRINGVALE?The York County Regional Job Fair will be held on Wednesday, April 5, from 2 to 6 p.m. at the Nasson Community Center, 457 Main Street, Springvale, Maine. More than 90 businesses and organizations participated last year and the department anticipates that the same number of employers will be recruiting at the fair again this year.
Job seekers and career changers will have the opportunity to speak with recruiters working to immediately fill open positions in all sectors of Maine?s economy to include manufacturing, healthcare, retail, military, defense contracting, aviation, hospitality, insurance, construction and services.
?Thousands of good-paying jobs with Maine employers are available at Maine JobLink and our many job fairs around the state,? said Governor Paul R. LePage. ?With a low unemployment rate, employers are looking to hire. The CareerCenters can help you prepare your resume and practice interviewing to be ready to land your next job at the job fair. Commissioner of Labor Jeanne Paquette stated, ?This is an employees' market, and the increased competition for workers means that wages are rising. There's no better time than now for workers or people thinking about going back to work to see what is out there and talk to employers at a job fair.?

Commissioner Paquette will offer opening remarks. She advised, "Whether you are considering a new job, a career change, a summer job or getting back into the workforce, this fair will offer hundreds of opportunities in various industries, occupations and skill levels. The job fair runs until 6 p.m. so that people who are currently working as well as teens can participate.?
Attendees should bring a resume and be prepared to have an "interview-like" conversation with employers to discuss skills, knowledge areas, and abilities. Job seekers should also be dressed for an interview.
The fair is sponsored by the Maine Department of Labor, York County CareerCenter, York County Maine Military Community Network, York County Community College, Sanford/Springvale Chamber of Commerce, and Workforce Solutions.
