Agricultural Career Fair to be held Wednesday during Maine Agricultural Trades Show Bookmark and Share

AUGUSTA?The Maine Department of Agriculture, Conservation and Forestry, in collaboration with the Maine Department of Labor (MDOL), are pleased to announce the first Agricultural Career Fair to be held during the Agricultural Trades Show in Augusta, ME. The Career Fair will take place on Wednesday, January 11, from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Augusta Civic Center.

"The Agricultural Trades Show and Career Fair is a great opportunity for job seekers to learn about Maine's agriculture industry," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "There's no cost to attend, and I encourage Mainers to come visit with these companies, as well as connect with resources from the Maine Department of Labor."

Current employers exhibiting include:

  • Farmer Kev's Organic
  • Hammond Tractor Co.
  • Hope Orchards
  • New England Truck Tire Center
  • Old Fort Western

MDOL's workforce staff will be available to meet with employers and job seekers, provide one-on-one consultations, training resources and information about the Maine-at-Work Initiative (MAW), and answer questions in regards to career development and building a stronger agricultural labor force.

Employers and job seekers are encouraged to bring their job application materials, such as resumes and cover letters. Prior to the Career Fair, MDOL and our workforce partner staff will also host a panel discussion in the demonstration area, at 2:30 p.m., to discuss registered apprenticeship programming, MAW, employment and employer resources, and answer questions from attendees. While not required, job seekers can email Ashley Sears at ashley.sears@maine.gov if interested in signing up to attend the Career Fair and to be informed of event updates.
