BANGOR??The Bangor CareerCenter, Maine Army National Guard, Bangor Daily News, and Hero 2 Hired are partnering on the 17th Annual Spring Career Fair to be held on Wednesday, May 28 at the Spectacular Events Center, 395 Griffin Road in Bangor. The career fair, open from 9 a.m. to noon, offers job seekers the opportunity to meet with 75 exhibitors and have their resume professionally critiqued.

"Searching for work is a full-time activity, but you don't have to go it alone," said Governor Paul R. LePage. "Along with the services our CareerCenters provide, several other resources are available in your community for training, education and volunteering. Sometimes all we need is a hand up, and the Annual Spring Career Fair in Bangor is a good place to start."

Veterans will also be able to meet one-on-one with professional staff who can help them use their military experience to become licensed in such fields as electrician, plumbing, stationary steam engineer, boiler operator, oil/propane/natural gas, solid fuel technician or commercial driving.

"I want to encourage our area veterans to take advantage of the occupational skills assessment program that will be available at this career fair in Bangor," added Governor LePage. "Career counselors will be on hand to help you apply for careers in the trades and help you transfer your military skills for civilian jobs. We thank you for your service to our nation.
